Hi

Jean-Jaque Rousseau said, the human is good from within, but the society makes him to something bad, whereas Hobbes says, that the human is bad from within and is very egoistic.

And now I want to hear your opinions. What do you think?

P.S: Information material could be something like: wikipedia and search "Rousseau" or "Hobbes".

I used to read and research a lot about this topic.

Really in my opinion, people are brought to this world more as being neutral and that society shapes how one will become. I for one had much freedom with how I live but was pointed the right direction to better myself so I had some kind of sense of what was "Right" or "Wrong", Good or Bad,etc, others that I know had the same amount of freedom but with no direction or much influence at an early age changed more dramatically because they learnt from problems/negatives more than success/positives which led to them being problematic now. To me, Society influences what you will become but you have a major role in your own choices when you grow up with your own mindset.

A book that I read that is quite interesting and is related to this topic is Lord of the Flies by William Golding :D

Rousseau was french and his life was a joke
i'm not sure about the origin of the humanity but i know that his goal is to become french and live in a joke

anyway who is good who is bad?
watching people's actions?
action can be good for some and bad for others even if it is basically just

Good point, funi.

But who made us to do such things. Wasn't it the society that made us to do so? If not, who was it then? Isn't it the natural state of humankind?

human are social animals
usually we do well to ensure a place in society: they help others, hoping to help in return
can also act well for his own pleasure, but it does have some social impact
we can instead act badly for his personal pleasure, but it will eventually create social tensions and problems

Humans are selfish by nature. When humans help others, they expect that help to be reciprocated (or returned) to them. Sometimes this natural mechanism fails and we help other people whom are unable to return the favor, but that's not the issue here. Otherwise, everything else we do is for the sake of making us feel better.

Good or bad, you decide.

selfishness is just a reaction to the environment

Humans are social based on the desire to get laid.
